Rent The Runway

Have a one night stand…with fashion.

Do you own a dress by Hervé Léger or Proenza Schouler? I didn’t think so. Now what would you do if I said you could wear one of those designer dresses and get it for 90% off retail value? That’s better. Rent The Runway is the newest way to make all your designer dreams come true. The website launched in November 2009 with a premise that mirrors the popular concept of borrowing dresses from your friends.

Rent the Runway is on a college campus tour and has partnered up with UGA HEROs to promote the website and raise money for a good cause. Rent the Runway and UGA HERO’s is putting on a fashion show on Thursday, September 30 from 9:00pm-10:00pm at the Stan Mullins Art Studio. In the show Rent the Runway will be showcasing some of their designer dresses and accessories available on their website. Tickets are $5 at the Center for Student Organizations in Tate with all proceeds going to UGA HEROs. Support great fashion and a great UGA philanthropy.

Here’s the rundown: You can choose from designer dresses and accessories by price, style, occasion, or body type. The prices range from $50-+200 depending on the designer and type of dress. To ensure that you order the correct size you can get a back up size for free and can get a second dress for the same event for and additional $25. The website helps you coordinate when to order based on your event date and the return shipping for your items is free. There is a $5 insurance charge added to the price of the dress to cover cleaning or damages. Sounds pretty easy.
