A Kornucopia of Kool: Giving Thanks for Yves Saint Laurent

-Thanksgiving is a holiday that most attribute to family, friends & a melting pot of turkey, casseroles, yams & all foods deemed delicious! Little did you know, that the initial pilgrimage overseas would serve as more than a mere milestone in US History books & platter for Paula Dean to feast upon. The maidens of the Mayflower embarked on a journey that would one day lend an exalted purpose. Gaining divine aid from life in Plymouth Rock, Yves Saint Laurent graced catwalks with a look we are surely grateful for this Thanksgiving. The 80′s are back & shoulder pads are a force to be reckoned with, yet YSL captures a look not reminiscent of Madonna, but of a more pilgrim-esque sort. Above, artist Danny Roberts reproduces YSL’s colonial inspired design in his series of paintings covering Paris Fashion Week.
Wishing you all a delightful Thanksgiving holiday! Gobble Gobble to you and yours!
