Incredible. Simply incredible. Really, I can not think of any other word to describe my weekend at Ultra Music Festival. For those of you who don’t enjoy a good bass thrashing, Ultra Music Festival is a three-day music event held annually in downtown Miami. Ultra always closes Miami Music Week (also known as Winter Music Conference.) During the week leading up to Ultra, famous DJs from around the world take their talents to South Beach, playing sets at various pools, hotels, and clubs. Miami Music Week is more than just a party. Various conferences are held in dedication to electronic music throughout the week.
The moment I bought my ticket, was the moment I began eagerly awaiting my first Ultra/Miami Music Week experience. Spoiler: it lived up to my expectations and more.
For those of you that were lucky to get down to Miami for the Ultra Music Festival, we hate you. Many of us were stuck at our computers watching the live feed and praying that we can make it down to the sunny beaches of Florida next year.
Here’s a little taste of Avicii’s set and his remix of Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild.” Enjoy!
Spring Break has finally arrived! I’ve been counting down the days, eagerly anticipating sitting on the beach and completely forgetting about school. This much-needed break doesn’t just serve as time to relax and get away; it also marks the beginning of spring. Soon we will all be sun-kissed and ready to wear our spring clothes full time.
Tacos, cheese dip, margaritas! Usually affordable and alwaysdelicious, it should come as no surprise that Mexican food is a favorite among students at the University of Georgia. Athens boasts a variety of Mexican eateries, ranging from chains to local favorites, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is Athens’ newest Mexican food stop, and with its downtown location, it is sure to give Taco Stand some stiff competition. Fuzzy’s boasts an extensive menu, not limited to the typical Mexican fare. With shrimp tacos, various sandwiches, and even “big salads,” I found it difficult to decide what to try first! I eventually chose the grilled shrimp taco and was not disappointed. As a native Floridian, I was excited to find a place that served multiple variations of a fish taco. But the food isn’t the only reason to try out Fuzzy’s, its most attractive attribute is a laid back, party atmosphere.
It’s that time of year again: everything’s swathed in red or pink, the smell of roses seems to permeate from every angle and the heaps of chocolate-covered shelves just beg to be devoured. Cliche? Absolutely, but what h oliday isn’t? So we propose you ditch the ‘tude ladies, and prepare for a giveaway that is sure to brighten your woe-is-me mood.
