Cargo Collective

theCampusStyle.com_GeorgiaTech_CargoCollective

So remember in grade school when you’d build your own (totally tubular, animated with sparkles) website on Angelfire and show it off to all your friends? Meet Cargo Collective, a modern, and decidedly minimal, take on the right to showcase: up and coming artists, designers, fashionistas – a place for all fellow right-brainers to meet and greet, post portfolios and contact info, seek design inspiration and make connections. As with any club worth joining, every site that Cargo Collective initiates is by invite only – however, they frequently award memberships to unaffiliated talents who share a sample of their work. Jump on the bandwagon and prep your work for friends, clients, future employers alike right here.

Brought by two Aussies, Oliver Percovich and Sharna Nolan, skateboarding has at last made a significant appearance in the Middle East. The documentary Skateistan chronicles the two teachers and their students as they embark on one tumultuous journey–teaching Afghan children how to skateboard. With a war raging in the background and controversial gender barriers to overturn, the skateboarding school was finally established, all to create a fun outlet for kids who just want to be kids.

Noted as an official Sundance Film Festival selection, the British pro snowboarder turned filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel sat down with The Campus Style’s own Paris Rouzati to answer some questions, ranging from his personal style to tips on pursuing a career in film. Read his interview and gain some insight into the mind that captured the heart and soul of a underrepresented, yet lively and inspiring youth.

Mastering the Art of Affordable Class

Georgia Tech’s own Will Parker opitmizes his fantastic frat-tastic lifestyle with his colorful collection of Ralph Lauren oxfords that he scoops up from trendy thrift stores. However, the question still remains: can you be frugal and fresh?

Absolutely! From checkered and striped to vibrant solid button downs, Will has definitely mastered the art of mixing and matching colors and patterns of clothes. He maintains his ultra fresh appearance  by getting totally vintage shoes and jackets off of sites such as the retro and fabulous eBay! We, of course, cannot forget to take note of his rad glasses and classy bow ties, which are the cherries on top of his prepster look.
