Forever I Love (Assitance League) Atlanta

UPDATE: Here’s a link to us rockin’ our Assitance League Atlanta threads.

So forever we love the A, but we can’t help but shout about our unabashed love affair with ALA, a deliciously vintage shop we found in the heart of Chamblee (85/285 connector, half an episode of Gossip Girl away from Tech’s front door). This Neiman Marcus of good-will shops is a non-profit, driven by the sales of donated clothes – ALA uses that funding to help out local philanthropic efforts – everything from school supplies for underprivileged kids and women to basic clothing needs for groups like The Shepherd Center.

One of the Campus Style’s own has a stylish Nana who even volunteers at the shop (after all, it’s been scientifically proven that fashion rides the x-chromosome through generations) – Nana showed up to help us shop, with fresh cookies and some adorable postcards to boot – check out the cute advertising they have going on, and that scrumptious kelly green cardigan.

While you’re peeping, swoon over the Kenzie summer heels, Laundry dresses, vintage sailor belt and more we spied yesterday – pictures of us donning the Brooks Brothers polos, Ralph button-downs, and Tod’s driving mocs to come. Shoes are always $6, belts are $1.50 (you can pick your jaw off the floor now) and clothing comes in tagged increments – making it easy as pie to shop without having to price check.

ALA just switched their inventory to Spring wardrobe, which means you should get your frumpy leggings and bulky sweaters self over for some major spring cleaning, pronto. Make it a day date and explore the other shops located on Chamblee’s delectable Antique Row – everything from Rust & Dust antiques (we truly found Cherokee bangles and a Roosevelt election button last time we stopped by) to the old school Chamblee Bistro for a fabulous black & tan sandwich.

Snow Days Are Over

Melanie C., Georgia Tech business student (from Columbus, GA), definitely had the right instincts for packing her ice skates before Georgia’s freak Snowpocalypse this January. It’s not everyday you see someone iceskating on the streets of Atlanta. The snow days are over, the snow days are gone…Can you here the horses because here they come.

A-T-L-A-N-T-A, G-A That’s Where I Stay

There is nothing more exciting than the authentic creative talent that Atlanta has to offer. We get excited when we find people who inspire us to appreciate this city in all its artistic beauty. Long story short, we are proud to be ATLiens.

The badass crew over at Chilly-O persist in the crusade to be urban pioneers and design threads that fits the dynamic of the city dwellers. We love the drive behind their designs Read more >

Happy Karl-oween!

Ladies, please take note: inserting the adjective “slutty” in front of civic profession is not an acceptable Halloween costume. Recho O. (SCAD Atlanta student, 23 from Champaign, Illinois) channels the Godfather of Fashion to a “T” (in this case- a perfectly pressed Chanel tee, naturally). Only thing missing is a beautiful entourage, a bottle of Dom, and a slew of hungry paparazzo. Your originality isn’t going unnoticed, Ms. Lagerfeld.

What I hate most in life are people who are not really the peach of the day but who want to be young and sexy. You can fool nobody. There is a moment when you have to accept that somebody else is younger and fresher and hotter. Life is not a beauty contest.-Mr. Lagerfeld

It Wertz For Me!

We spotted SCAD Atlanta Alum, Miss Rachel Cade Wertz, at Neiman Marcus, during Atlanta’s Fashion’s Night Out event. The up-in-coming designer turns heads, and how convenient- we turned, stopped, and got to ask her a few questions about what inspires her looks and creations:

How excited were you to have your clothes showcased at Neiman Marcus?

It was amazing to see my clothes at Neiman Marcus. I couldn’t stop Read more >

The Sartorialist Heats Up The A

The Hagedorn Foundation Gallery was overflowing Friday night when Scott Schuman, AKA The Sartorialist, descended upon Atlanta with this exhibit and a personal apperance.  Although it was still blazing in the 90′s, the heat did not stop fashionistas from donning their favorite outfits even if it meant nearly passing out from heat exhaustion.

First up, Jeannie M., recycling enthusiast who works at The Museum School, is not afraid to teach a Read more >
