It’s that time of the year–the time to wish our great nation happy birthday. While you are stocking up on red, white and blue gear, cases of Bud heavy and whatever else your cooler demands, take the time to think back to your History 101 class and thank our founding fathers. Whether you are sippin’ brews beachside or grilling in the backyard with friends, the people of The Campus Style wanted to let you know what Independence Day means to us (um, hello freedom of speech) and what we stylish folks will be getting into on this fine day of debauchery. Happy 4th, Happy Birthday USA!

Meet Paris, President of The Campus Style. Her plans for this year’s 4th? Kickin’ in the capital of the South–Hotlanta.

Any Independence Day traditions? What are your 4th of July plans this year? Considering I’ve been out of the country for the past couple 4th of July’s I must say I’m super pumped to be in Atlanta this year. A couple friends and I are renting a party bus and heading over to a Braves game!

Fireworks or sparklers? Fireworks for sure!

Red, white or blue? White is my favorite color…so white all the way! Although I did just get a red feather extension in my hair.

What does Independence Day mean to you? Independence means doing and saying what you want and feel at anytime and feeling like you have the right to do so.

Next up is Brittanae, our Editor-in-Chief.

What are your plans for this year’s 4th? I’ll be heading to DC to celebrate–no better place than the nation’s capital.

Fireworks or sparklers? Both. Sparklers in my hand and fireworks in my eyes.

Red, white or blue? Red and white. Blue is overrated.

What’s your perfect 4th of July outfit? I’ll be wearing an American flag bandana. The rest will fall into place.

What does Independence Day mean to you? Independence is such a subjective word, which is great and means something special to each person. It always reminds me of what our ancestors worked so hard for–the ideal that we govern ourselves, have the right to say what we feel and a right to instill change for our betterment.

Last, but not least, is our Vice President-Content Strategy, Virginia..

What’s your favorite 4th of July memory? Are there any special traditions you do every year? Ever since I was a child I spend my 4th on Sullivan’s Island with my family and friends but last year I went to a Phish concert on the 4th and it was amazing.

Why do you like celebrating this particular holiday? Its a reason to get in a bikini, have fun on the beach all day, and spend time with my loved ones…How could you not enjoy that?

What’s your perfect outfit for the 4th? A bathing suit (obviously one that is patriotic) beach cover up, and sandals.

Fireworks or sparklers? Fireworks. Boom.

Red, white or blue? All of the above.

What does Independence Day mean to you? Independence Day is always a time for me to come together with my family and friends. Independence Day is all about freedom…To be whoever I want to be. To say whatever I want to say.

Well, that’s our thoughts on this big day. Tell us what you’re doing for the 4th, send us some pics and you may see your pretty little face on here next week. And remember folks, travel safely, don’t forget the stocked cooler and be sure to grub out on some burgers. Happy 4th, y’all!
