Georgia Tech: Yum Yum To Go

TheCampusStyle.com_ga-city_munchies_cupcake

I’m walking down the street, and all of a sudden this pink truck comes into view. Naturally this adorable vehicle is going to get a second glance from me. It was a giant, pink cupcake truck for crying out loud! After all, how many times has dessert driven up right next to you?

Tuk Tuk: A Taste of Thailand

This past weekend, I stumbled upon what is now a favorite Thai spot in Atlanta. Its name refers to the Tuk Tuk vehicles that colorfully roaming the streets of Thailand, but there’s no need to go overseas to see one. Every detail is considered here, from the cultural scripture on the wall to the Tuk Tuk displayed upon entrance. Read more >

Farm-to-Table Southern Hospitality

Up to a festive game of Scout Mob roulette last weekend, my beau and I discovered a heart-of-downtown restaurant that promised farm-to-table upscale dining, and soon arrived at the classic Ellis Hotel’s Terrace restaurant.  Self-defined sustainable nosh, the Terrace offers a tucked-away breakfast, lunch or dinner at your choice of low-key indoor seating or on their front porch, shaded by giant ferns. Forever I Love (Assitance League) Atlanta

UPDATE: Here’s a link to us rockin’ our Assitance League Atlanta threads.

So forever we love the A, but we can’t help but shout about our unabashed love affair with ALA, a deliciously vintage shop we found in the heart of Chamblee (85/285 connector, half an episode of Gossip Girl away from Tech’s front door). This Neiman Marcus of good-will shops is a non-profit, driven by the sales of donated clothes – ALA uses that funding to help out local philanthropic efforts – everything from school supplies for underprivileged kids and women to basic clothing needs for groups like The Shepherd Center.

One of the Campus Style’s own has a stylish Nana who even volunteers at the shop (after all, it’s been scientifically proven that fashion rides the x-chromosome through generations) – Nana showed up to help us shop, with fresh cookies and some adorable postcards to boot – check out the cute advertising they have going on, and that scrumptious kelly green cardigan.

While you’re peeping, swoon over the Kenzie summer heels, Laundry dresses, vintage sailor belt and more we spied yesterday – pictures of us donning the Brooks Brothers polos, Ralph button-downs, and Tod’s driving mocs to come. Shoes are always $6, belts are $1.50 (you can pick your jaw off the floor now) and clothing comes in tagged increments – making it easy as pie to shop without having to price check.

ALA just switched their inventory to Spring wardrobe, which means you should get your frumpy leggings and bulky sweaters self over for some major spring cleaning, pronto. Make it a day date and explore the other shops located on Chamblee’s delectable Antique Row – everything from Rust & Dust antiques (we truly found Cherokee bangles and a Roosevelt election button last time we stopped by) to the old school Chamblee Bistro for a fabulous black & tan sandwich.

K.O.P.

All hail the king supreme of Atlanta, Steven Carse for making Atlanta heat exhaustion tolerable. If you haven’t already heard of the street food efforts in the A.King of Pops is one of many progressive street vendors in town. You might have passed the popsicle cart on the corner of Highland and North Ave, but now the king has expanded to a NEW location Read more >
