Nikki, Amy, Lynn, Jack, Leonardo, John, & Robert
VI: Nikki, Amy, Lynn, Jack, Leonardo, John & Robert…
What do these six names mean to you? No, they not names of a newly famed set of septuplets. Fashionistas, photographers, and artist extraordinaire are visiting Atlanta for a while and everyone should check them out while you still can.
Who | What | Where | How. That’s the main page for ATL natives Nikki Salk and Amy Flurry’s collaborative paper-cut-project.
Who | Nikki Salk– former owner of Atlanta boutique Addiction and current fashion blogger and artist. Amy Flurry–queen of all things fashion working as an editor, writer, and stylist for some of the biggest names in the magazine world including currently regional editor for Lucky Magazine and style editor for Atlanta’s own, The Atlantan.
What | Envy of Gaga and Ms. Antoinette alike, these ladies create beautiful head pieces and masks ranging from the American ponytail, to the afro, to a mixture of Tim Burton meets 20′s army hat meets Alice in Wonderland meets the french court in the days or Marie herself, all made out of paper.
Where | The exciting part! Nikki and Amy have chosen to do installations at Jeffery which has two locations- New York and Atlanta (that’s a first). But you have to go quick, the paper beauties will only be on display from January 5th to February 5th. You’ve still got some time.
How | Stumped us. All of these outlandishly perfect creations are made of paper but look like they would make it through a serious day of adventure. They are “fueled by a love of fashion and an appreciation of the grace and nuance of this humble material.”
JEFFERY ATLANTA | Phipps Plaza | Mon-Wed 10-8, Thurs 10-9, Sat 10-7, & Sun 12:30-6.
Next up are Lynn Geesman & Jack Spencer. Starting January 22nd, you can catch these two in Atlanta at Jackson Fine Art.

Lynn Geesman’s photography has an organic feel with her subject mostly being nature but are slightly out of focus and hazy causing the viewer’s eye confusion wondering if it is really a photo or a full on Monet.

Jack Spencer is self-taught photographer who also captures mainly nature scene but they differ from Lynn’s greatly. They have an atmospheric quality about them there their beautiful vignetting and mono-toned feel.
Jackson Fine Art | 3115 East Shadowlawn Avenue | Tues – Sat 10-5
As for Leonardo and John, they are residing at the High. Leonardo da Vinci will be there until February and John Portman until April. What we really wanted to highlight about the High is the upcoming College Night Saturday the 23rd. For it’s 14th year running, the High hosts one of their semi-sporadic College nights that boasts DJs, performances, and using your best soiree skills amongst the beautiful exhibitions currently at the museum. This time is also super exciting as it is the opening day for the new exhibition The Portrait Unbound: Photographs by Robert Weingarten.
So make sure to remember your student ID, only $7 with it or $18 without.
High Museum Atlanta | 1280 Peachtree Street | Closed Mon, Tues & Wed & Fri & Sat 10-5, Thurs 10-8, & Sun 12-5
